This Website Privacy Policy explains how Caveat Emptor Studio LLC, an Indiana limited liability company (“Caveat Emptor Studio,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit flipempire.io, caveatemptorstudio.com, and their subdomains (together, the “Site”) or contact us through the Site. It does not apply to the mobile game Flip Empire (the “Game”), which has its own Privacy Policy, or to Apple’s websites, apps, and services.

This Privacy Policy is part of the Website Terms of Use at flipempire.io. By using the Site, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy.

Summary

• The Site is informational. It has no accounts, sells nothing, and never asks for payment information.
• Like every website, the Site and its hosting provider receive basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address and browser type.

The Game does not require an account, and the Game collects different information, for different purposes, as described in its own Privacy Policy. Nothing in this Privacy Policy expands or limits what the Game collects.

2.1 Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we and our hosting provider, Pork Bun, automatically receive standard technical information, including:

This is coarse, network-derived location only. We do not collect GPS coordinates or precise location, and the Site does not request location permission from your browser.

If you email us or use a contact form, we receive your name (if you give it), your email address, and the content of your message, along with anything else you choose to share. If you sign up for updates about the Game, we receive the email address you submit and record that you subscribed.

2.5 Information from Apple. If you follow a link from the Site to the App Store, Apple’s handling of your information is governed by Apple’s privacy policy, not this one. Apple may give us aggregate statistics about App Store page views and downloads. We do not receive information from Apple that identifies you from your visit to the Site.

2.6 Information we do not collect. The Site has no accounts, so we do not ask for usernames or passwords. We do not collect payment card or financial account information, government identifiers, precise location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera data, health data, biometric data, or other sensitive personal information, and we do not knowingly collect any of it through the Site. Please do not include any of it in messages to us.

We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy:

• Server and access logs: as set by our hosting provider.
• Email correspondence: for as long as needed to resolve your issue and keep a record of it, and then deleted.
• Mailing list: until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.

Aggregated and de-identified data that cannot reasonably be linked to a person or device may be kept indefinitely.

The Site is served over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. We limit access to the information we hold to those who need it, and we rely on the security controls of our hosting and other service providers for the systems they operate. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, to receive a copy of it in a portable format, to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

We will respond within the time required by applicable law, generally within 45 days, and we will not discriminate against you for making a request. To protect your information, we need to confirm that a request is yours. We can match correspondence to the email address you wrote from. Server log and analytics data are tied to technical identifiers, not to your name, so to act on an access or deletion request for that data we may need your IP address and the dates of your visits. If we cannot verify a request or cannot locate the data, we will tell you and explain what we are able to do instead. You may also authorize an agent to make a request on your behalf, in which case we may ask for proof of that authorization.

9.5 Appeals. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision, or by emailing compliance@caveatemptorstudio.com within sixty (60) days with the subject line “Appeal.” We will respond to your appeal in writing within the time required by applicable law. If your appeal is denied, you may contact your state attorney general.

10. Children’s Privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through it. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information through the Site, contact us at compliance@caveatemptorstudio.com and we will delete it.

11. International Data Transfers

We are located in the United States. The Site is hosted by Pork Bun, and the information described in this Privacy Policy is processed in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate. If you visit the Site from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in countries where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
